What caused MSG Network to lose its optimal subscribers?
When the cable provider’s agreement with MSG Network expired before a renewal agreement was negotiated, optimal subscribers lost access to the network on January 1.
“Exorbitant programming fees are being demanded by MSG Networks, which could result in higher cable bills for our customers,” Optimum said in a statement on Monday, December 30.
“This pricing gouging from Altice is straightforward and unadulterated. A $10 fee hike on top of a 50% rate rise is an attempt to boost their bottom line by more than $10 a month’, MSG Networks responded to The Post today. “We are still prepared to engage in sincere negotiations to restore our programming to Optimum.”
Since then, the two parties have stayed far apart, and it appears that subscribers would have to endure a protracted period of time without MSG Network.
