The rising Sacramento Kings have won seven straight games, providing a great platform for tonight’s game against a Milwaukee Bucks squad that has had their number.
Milwaukee has won nine of the last ten games, but my Kings vs Bucks predictions point to a different outcome and a solid performance by the Sacramento attack, led by their all-around big man.
My NBA picks delve into this January 14 matchup.
Kings vs. Bucks Prediction
My best bet: Domantas Sabonis. Over 18.5 points (-125 on bet365)
Analysis
Domantas Sabonis has left his mark on the Sacramento Kings’ winning streak, with 28 rebounds against the Boston Celtics and a massive triple-double against the Miami Heat. And he’ll be a key figure again tonight, when the Kings face the Milwaukee Bucks’ tall frontcourt.
Sabonis is stuffing the stat book here, but his scoring could be the difference-maker as the visitors look for their eighth straight win. He’s scored more than 20 points in his last four games, including 23 in Boston, and Malik Monk’s absence allows for even greater output.
Sure, this Sacramento attack still has a lot of mouths to feed, but Sabonis’ efficiency — 62% from the field in January — means he doesn’t need 20 shots to hit this Over.
Milwaukee gave up 140 points against the New York Knicks on Sunday, so there are obvious defensive gaps for the Kings to attack.
De’Aaron Fox and DeMar DeRozan should give the Bucks fits on the perimeter, especially with Khris Middleton missing, and a scrambling defense allows for easy Sabonis shots in the paint.
Giannis can only be in so many places at once, so don’t be shocked if Sabonis takes advantage of some second chances in this one. He surpassed the 18.5 O/U mark in both meetings with Milwaukee last season, and he enters Fiserv Forum at the top of his game.
