A lineup change versus the New York Knicks has been revealed by the Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets, who are 7-3 in their last 10 games after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls back-to-back, will travel to New York on Wednesday night to play the Knicks. After having his triple-double streak ended against the Timberwolves last week, NBA MVP candidate Nikola Jokic is still putting up historic statistics and will try to begin a new one.
Russell Westbrook’s play, which has flourished with an 18-7 record in the starting lineup, has also contributed to Denver’s success. Michael Malone has declared a lineup change ahead of their highly anticipated game versus the Knicks.
Westbrook will remain in the starting lineup for the Nuggets, but Aaron Gordon will replace Christian Braun. The Nuggets’ second unit will be led by Braun, who is having a career season with an average of 14.3 points per game going into Wednesday.
Gordon is making his first appearance back in the starting lineup since the Denver Broncos game against the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day. After recovering from his injury, Gordon played the last eight games under a minutes limit, coming off the bench.
Gordon’s addition to the starting lineup represents a major step up in his usage as the Nuggets want to advance up the Western Conference rankings towards a top-three seed, even if Denver may still make a trade before the February 6th trade deadline.
Against the New York Knicks, the Denver Nuggets switch up their starting lineup.
