Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was removed on a stretcher after six minutes into Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan international collapsed unopposed while attempting to head a corner kick.
Bentancur needed on-field treatment for approximately nine minutes and was administered oxygen prior to being substituted by forward Brennan Johnson.
Subsequently, it was verified that he was alert and conversing, and he will be transported to the hospital for additional examinations.
The match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was scoreless when Bentancur departed.
