Cade Due to some subpar defensive performance, the Cavaliers are losing their position at the top of the NBA standings, while Cunningham is having a great season. The Pistons point guard should have a strong overall performance tonight, according to our NBA betting predictions.
Surprisingly, the Detroit Pistons have outperformed the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last ten games. When the Pistons visit Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse tonight, the Cavaliers will try to overcome a mid-season slump.
My predictions for the Pistons versus. Cavaliers are that Cade Cunningham will perform well and fill the stat sheet once more.
To find out why you should take the Over on Cunningham’s combo pro and a Darius Garland scoring line, read my NBA picks.
Prediction for the Pistons vs. Cavaliers
My top pick is Cade Cunningham. Over 42.5 points plus assists and rebounds (-115 at bet365)
My evaluation
In Year 4, Cade Cunningham is having the best season of his life and hitting career highs in every category. The 2021 NBA Draft’s top pick is averaging 40.8 PRAs with 24.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 9.4 assists. In 20 out of 41 games this season, he has recorded at least 43 PRAs. He has been much better during the past three weeks than he has been throughout the season.
In his last 11 games, Cunningham has hit the Over on this line seven times and averaged 43.4 PRAs. He has already accomplished that feat three times in a row, and I anticipate that he will continue to do so tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, whose defence has not been particularly strong in its last ten games.
Cleveland has the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA (120.4) over the past ten games. This is a good matchup for Cunningham because Cleveland has given up the third-most points and the sixth-most assists to opponents during that time.
To make this game even more intriguing, the Cavaliers have given up the second-highest number of points to opposing PGs this season (26.5), and during the past 15 games, they have given up the most points to the position (28.7). Opponent signal-callers have averaged 42.3 PRAs against Cleveland over those 15 games.
The Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons are both among the top 15 in pace over the past ten games, and the game’s point total is set at a respectable 235. Cunningham should have plenty of chances to accumulate counting statistics, especially if Tobias Harris is out.
Cunningham can make it interesting with another outstanding effort, but I think Cleveland will win today and put an end to the bleeding.
The Cavaliers should win this game handily and end their current three-game losing streak.
Even though Cleveland is playing at home and has a more quality squad, I’m avoiding the spread entirely because of their recent inconsistencies and their defense’s weaknesses.
NBA gamblers are familiar with Darius Garland’s home/road scoring splits, so I’m going for the Over in tonight’s game in The Land.
This season, Garland is scoring 20.2 points per game away from home and 23 points per game at home. He has hit the Over in seven of his previous eleven games, including three consecutive, and has averaging a solid 25.7 points per game.
