After suffering a devastating injury early in the 2024–25 season, the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to get back on track. The latest development regarding the health of Sixers superstar center Joel Embiid has kept the hits coming, and Monday night’s game against the Suns is no exception.
Injuries have limited Embiid’s playing time this season, limiting him to just 13 games for the Sixers. Due to his inability to establish a consistent rhythm on the floor, his stats have dropped significantly from previous season. His averages are 24.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 45.2% shooting.
It appeared like the 76ers were finally finding their groove with the addition of Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George, as they won five of their last seven games. A left foot sprain has put a damper on their hopes, as Joel Embiid will miss their next game against the Suns.
In a post on X, which was previously known as Twitter, Keith Pompey broke the news that Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry will not be playing tonight against the Suns.
The 76ers’ Embiid has missed 21 games this season, which is certainly a major setback. The squad has a ways to go until the end of the season since they are now positioned to miss the Play-In Tournament due to their record of 14-19. But with Embiid on the court, they can’t reach that goal.
