Tonight’s 2024 Hawaii Bowl matchup between the South Florida Bulls and the San Jose State Spartans is a college football player’s favorite bowl game on ESPN.
In this game, there is a lot of mystery around both schools. Throughout the season, San Jose State had a number of close games, including a 21-point defeat against Boise State that was knotted at the half. In addition, Ken Niumatalolo, the head coach of the Spartans, is a native of Hawaii and would be thrilled to represent his home state.
The fact that USF is participating in its second bowl game in as many years, on the other hand, is evidence of head coach Alex Golesh’s ability to save the program after they had only won four games in the three years before he took over. Perhaps San Jose State should take the Bulls more seriously than some of its previous opponents, considering USF defeated Syracuse 45-0 in the Boca Raton Bowl last year.
