WHAT OCCURRED?
According to Sky Italia, months before Kvaratskhelia’s transfer to the French city was finalized, Liverpool reportedly made a bid of €100 million (£83 million/$104 million) to recruit the Napoli star. The Reds were willing to let the Georgian winger play for Napoli in the 2024–2025 season and had no imminent plans to sign him. In the summer of 2025, they intended to bring the player to Anfield.

However, Napoli turned down the offer at the time because they wanted to keep their best player. Last summer, Kvaratskhelia had an offer from PSG as well, but he allegedly turned it down before finally agreeing to terms six months later. The Merseyside team was apparently ready to compete with the Ligue 1 winners in the January transfer window, but they never made a formal bid.
