Our college basketball betting predictions think Indiana is ready for a road victory for the Bruins on Friday night, despite UCLA’s struggles outside of their own domain this season.
On Friday night, the Indiana Hoosiers will host the UCLA Bruins at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
My UCLA vs. Indiana predictions predict that the Bruins will win today, even though they haven’t won a game farther east than Arizona. These are my top free college basketball predictions for this February 14 Big Ten matchup.
Prediction for UCLA vs. Indiana
My top pick is the UCLA moneyline, which is -135 at bet365.
My evaluation
The UCLA Bruins lost 83-78 in Illinois on Tuesday after winning seven straight games. With a 0–4 SU record and a 1-3 ATS record in four road games at Midwest and East Coast schools, the Bruins have had trouble traveling across the country in the new Big Ten. Nevertheless, I believe they eventually defeat the West Coast today.
The Indiana Hoosiers, who had lost seven of their last nine games, defeated Michigan State in Lansing on Tuesday to end a five-game losing streak. But more than anything Indiana was doing on defense, the Spartans’ poor shooting performance throughout that game contributed to their 4-for-23 long-range shooting performance.
Indiana appears fragmented on both ends of the court and has been extremely inconsistent. The talent acquired through the transfer window hasn’t clicked, and head coach Mike Woodson declared last week that he will leave at the end of the current campaign.
In conference play, the Hoosiers rank 10th in adjusted defense and only 16th in adjusted offensive efficiency. They have also lost their last three games at home, so they haven’t received the normal boost from playing there.
