Las Vegas has reached an understanding to appoint Pete Carroll as the franchise’s next head coach, according to several reports.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that it is a three-year contract with a fourth-year team option for the 73-year-old.
Carroll excelled as the coach at USC and the Seahawks for more than twenty years, capturing a national championship and a Super Bowl in the process.
The Seahawks unexpectedly parted ways with Carroll during the previous season.
Brady holds a 5-percent minority stake in the Raiders, yet allegedly influenced owner Mark Davis over the choice.
The Raiders dismissed General Manager Tom Telesco and Head Coach Antonio Pierce following a complete season that concluded with a record of 4-13.
