Amon-Ra St. Brown enjoys inflaming the Lions’ rivalry with the Packers, but for the duration of his week, he is putting that aside.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown fully embraces his team’s rivalry with the Green Bay Packers, from getting beer poured on him to blowing a kiss to a Packers fan who was giving him the finger following last year’s victory at Lambeau Field to wearing a “GreenBay Sucks” hoodie when he enters this year’s game. It’s not surprising given everything we’ve discovered about the man over the years.
St. Brown disclosed on the Netflix series “Receiver” that he played with a left oblique muscle that was “completely off the bone” during Week 4 of the previous season against the Packers. The “Sun God” also mentioned that he did whatever he had to do to play the night before a Thursday.
This week, Amon-Ra St. Brown is prepared to support the Packers.
This week, we are aware of the situation. The Lions will secure the top seed in the playoffs if they defeat the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night and the Packers defeat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
As anticipated, we also know that if the Vikings win, the Lions will not consider the game against the 49ers any differently. After losing to San Francisco in the previous year’s tournament, St. Brown is motivated to exact some retribution.
When the Vikings visit Ford Field in Week 18, the NFC’s top seed and the NFC North title will be at stake if they defeat the Packers on Sunday. With the Packers winning on Sunday and the Lions winning on Monday, it should not come to that. However, the Lions don’t have complete control of it this week.
St. Brown was questioned on Thursday about how difficult it will be to support the Packers.
St. Brown will temporarily relinquish his position as the primary catalyst for the rivalry when the Lions (and Lions fans) reluctantly switch to the Packers this weekend.
