Warriors versus Timberwolves Forecast, Selections, and Probabilities for This Evening's NBA Match

The Minnesota Timberwolves may be merely two games ahead of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA rankings, although this disparity appears significant considering the prevailing trends between the two teams. The current spread highlights that disparity, favouring Minnesota by six points.

These complimentary NBA predictions will not concentrate on the spread; instead, my analysis of the Warriors versus Timberwolves acknowledges a recent shift in Minnesota’s strategy. The tip-off is scheduled at 9:30 PM ET on Wednesday, January 15.

Prediction for the Warriors versus Timberwolves matchup
My optimal choice
Donte DiVincenzo More than 2.5 three-pointers made (-155 at Bet365)

My assessment
Following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ trade of Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks just prior to the commencement of preseason practices, the predominant reaction centred on Julius Randle’s compatibility with Minnesota. The fit has been precarious, however progressively enhancing.

However, the less publicised aspect of the exchange was the acquisition of Donte DiVincenzo, which the Timberwolves mandated. Randle is expected to be a short-term asset in the Twin Cities, whereas DiVincenzo may remain for three complete seasons, all at exceptional value.

Minnesota sought DiVincenzo not only for his shooting proficiency but also for his shooting volume. Towns has already established himself as the premier shooting centre in history. DiVincenzo attempted 10.8 three-point shots per 36 minutes last season, successfully converting 40.1% of them. Such a combination might elevate the Timberwolves’ offence, centred on Anthony Edwards.

However, that figure decreased to 8.6 three-point attempts per 36 minutes during a 19-game period in which Minnesota recorded a 9-10 record. Not all of that awful record can be attributed to DiVincenzo, but his hesitance to shoot did not ameliorate the situation.

The Timberwolves inserted him into the starting lineup, resulting in a 4-1 record since then. DiVincenzo has resumed shooting, attempting 10.8 three-pointers per 36 minutes during this period and at least seven in each of the five games, achieving a success rate of 40%.

This is the player that Minnesota pursued. Sportsbooks have inadequately adapted to his resurgence.

In lineups devoid of Mike Conley, Edwards and Randle assume greater responsibility for the offence, hence affording DiVincenzo increased shooting attempts. He possesses the most favorable of approvals.
