Even though they won the 2024 Caribbean Cup, Cavalier didn’t play in the first round and is now up against their toughest opponent. Inter Miami has been cruising through the competition, so Cavalier—a squad famed for its tenacity, commitment, and brave offensive play—will need all of that and more to keep up.
By crushing Sporting Kansas City 4-1 on aggregate in their first-round match, Inter Miami sent a strong signal. Because of their home field advantage and roster of world-class players, Miami is the clear favorite to win this matchup.
Since star player Lionel Messi was conspicuously absent on Inter Miami’s journey to Houston last week, the question that remains for tonight is if he will participate. Luis Suárez will be available, and he’ll be hoping to have Lionel Messi as an accomplice this evening.
