Who had the best goal-scoring season in 2024?
The top clubs in European football have taken notice of Viktor Gyökeres, thanks to his incredible goal-scoring performance for Sporting CP. In 2024, the 26-year-old Gyökeres scored an amazing 62 goals in 63 games for club and country — 52 for Sporting and 10 for Sweden — making him the player with the most goals scored. The Norwegian international who led Manchester City to their fourth straight English Premier League title, Erling Haaland, is second all-time with 49 goals in 59 games, as seen in the graphic below.
Third place goes to Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and England, with 46 goals in 57 games. Robert Lewandowski, who is in his mid-thirties, is still scoring at an excellent clip. Last but not least, we have Jonathan David, a much sought-after striker whose contract with Ligue 1 club Lille expires in the summer.
